1 cup flour

½ cup salt

1 cup water (Can add food coloring to the water for even distribution or instant coffee for a brown color)

2 teaspoons cream of tarter

1 1/2 T vegetable oil

Dash of vanilla or your favorite flavor or lotion  (just don’t make it smell too good)

Stir  in glass bowl and nuke for 2 ½ minutes.

Stir well, nuke more as needed, 20 seconds at a time.

Knead until cool, nice and smooth and put in zip lock bag. (Be sure it is cool before you zip the bag)

Will keep for weeks and weeks.

(If using coffee for a brown color--sprinkle in around 1 T of cinnamon and a few sprinkles of nutmeg for color and fragrance--and to add texture you can knead in wet coffee grounds.)

Dosolve Alum in boiling water in a large glass bowl.  Combine salt with 2 cups of clour and add to bowl.  Add oil and food coloring to desires intensity.  Add flavor extract and/or glitter,  Stir well.  Add remaining cup of clour.  Stir well again.  Put dough on floured countertop and knead a few minutes, adding more flour as necessary until dough is of a pliable consistency.  Store in airtight container.

1/3 cup sugar

1 cup of corn starch

4 cups water

Red, blue & yellow food coloring

Ziplock sandwich bags

Mix sugar, water and cornstarch in a sauce pan.

Cool over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens into a glossy pudding like mix.  Think lemon meringue pie filling!

Let cool!

Divide mixture equally into three bowls.  Add a different food coloring to each bowl, stir until thoroughly mixed.  Put approximately 3 TBLS of each color into a zip lock bag, zip shut and tape opening closed.

Have children knead the baggie to mix the colors and create a rainbow!
